Songs for Subcrawls 4:
The Underground Song
We were first made aware of the existence of this song when we ran into the 7.05 Club
during a subcrawl. We don't know who wrote it, but believe that
it was often performed by Francie & Josie, alias Jack Milroy and the late Rikki Fulton. They (the 7.05 Club, not Francie
& Josie - we haven't gone all RentaGhost on you) promised to send us the words.
And they did - eventually. Cheers, guys! We will henceforth be singing this
on all our future "outings", at least until someone gets fed up and it all kicks off...

Chorus: There’s Partick Cross and Cessnock, Hillhead
and Merkland Street,
George’s Cross and Govan Cross where all the people meet
West Street, Shields Road, the train goes round and round
You’ve never lived unless you’ve been on The Glasgow Underground.
